Friday Thoughts 136
Greetings! Welcome to this week’s edition of Friday Thoughts, where I share what’s been on my mind this week. Enjoy.
Fourth of July Hours
We will be open regular hours all next week.

The Clarity of Nutrition Labels
Now I realize Instagram isn’t the most reliable news source in the world, so I did some light Googling. It’s another yogurt company who is suing Chobani, claiming their tubs have less than the advertised 20 grams. This is mostly reminding me of a couple years ago when popular running fuel, Awesome Sauce, got nabbed for claiming twice the amount of calories they actually had.
I’m not surprised. I’m also not sure of how to hedge against this, other than assuming if it’s top good to be true, it probably isn't.

Training Ramblings
Training has been going well. I got in a two trail runs last week, including a nice 9-miler with lots of vert. Olympic lifting has been enjoyable, and my technique feels pretty good despite being a little rusty. I really hate planning things in advance, and prefer to see how the day plays out and how I feel before making any serious commitments.
At the start of each week I write I list of the styles or intents of workouts I want to do. This has given me the flexibility I need while providing constraints. It’s not a full on program, but rather a suggestion on what I should do.
trail run is a trail run, and run is a running workout
KEEP TRAINING
If I break my arm or leg today, I promise you that I will keep training around it. Taking time off for a busted something or other doesn’t make any sense. You’re already moving less, being less active, missing your routine and your gym friends - why not just keep training? When the injury is over, instead of backsliding for a month or two, you just keep on rolling.
There’s a thousand ways to modify things so if you only have one leg or one arm available. Not training at all isn’t an option. Instead, think what can I do despite this?
Final Thoughts
Thanks for reading, I’ll see you in the gym!
